STUMP QUESTIONS
How deep into the ground do you grind the tree stump?

We grind 8 to 12 inches below surface grade, completely obliterating the stump core and major surface root flares so the area is ready for seamless lawn turf or paving.

What happens to the wood chips after grinding?

We can backfill the cavity with the organic mulch chips to settle naturally, or haul all chips away and bring in clean screened topsoil ready for seed or sod.

Will the tree roots ever grow back after grinding?

No. Because the root crown and main stump mass are pulverized below the frost line, the root system dies completely and will never send up fresh suckers or shoots.

Grind it 10 inches below grade.
